Fully Automatic Vertical Strapping Machine with Closed Frame

VERTICAL STRAPPER U is a fully automatic strapping machine designed for precise vertical securing of palletised loads, bundles and loose products using PP or PET strapping. The closed strapping frame guides the strap along a precisely defined path around the product, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability of the strapping process.

The machine is designed for integration into both new and existing production, packaging, dispatch and logistics lines. The automated operating cycle minimises the need for manual work and ensures consistent strapping quality even in continuous industrial operation.

Closed Frame for Precise Strap Guidance

The key feature of the VERTICAL STRAPPER U is its closed strapping frame. During the operating cycle, the strap is guided along a precisely defined path around the pallet or product and passes through the gap between the conveyors.

The fixed strapping position enables strap application accuracy of up to ± 0.5 mm, which is particularly beneficial in automated production processes requiring high repeatability.

Tensioning Force 100 – 4,500 N

The strapping head enables the tensioning force to be adjusted within a range of 100 – 4,500 N. The value can be adapted to the weight, stability and sensitivity of the specific product to ensure reliable load securing without unnecessary stress on the packaged product.

Industrial SIAT GS41 Strapping Head

VERTICAL STRAPPER U uses the SIAT GS41 strapping head, which tensions the strap, creates a vibration-welded joint and subsequently cuts the strap. The strong joint is created without the need for metal seals or additional joining materials.

The strap is fed into the closed frame at a speed of up to 4 m/s, supporting an efficient automated operating process.

Automatic Strapping Cycle

Once the product stops in the strapping position, sensors confirm its correct position and the machine receives a signal to start the operating cycle. The PP or PET strap is then fed through the closed strapping path, tensioned to the preset force and joined by the strapping head using a strong vibration weld.

The tension compensation system ensures even strap tensioning for products of different heights.

PP or PET Strapping

The machine is designed for PP or PET strapping in widths of 12, 16 or 19 mm. The appropriate material is selected according to the weight, stability and handling requirements of the packaged product.

• PP strapping – an economical and flexible solution for lighter and medium-duty products, cartons and grouped packages.
• PET strapping – a strong solution for heavy pallets and products exposed to higher dynamic loads.

Siemens S7-1200 Control System

The machine is controlled by an industrial SIEMENS S7-1200 system. The touchscreen control panel enables operating programmes and tensioning force to be configured and individual machine functions to be manually controlled during setup or servicing.

Custom Strapping Frame Dimensions

VERTICAL STRAPPER U can be dimensionally adapted to the specific product and production line. The frame width NB, frame height NH, working height and conveyor configuration are designed individually according to the specific application.

Available reference frame widths NB are 1,100 / 1,300 / 1,500 / 1,800 mm, with frame heights NH of 2,750 / 3,100 / 3,600 mm. Final machine dimensions are determined according to the specific project.
